Create an organization

Set up a shared workspace for your team and invite members.

There are two moments where AskPhi offers to create an organization:

  1. Right after you register — AskPhi takes you to a setup screen.
  2. Any time later — from your profile's Organization tab.

Both paths produce the same result.

Before you start

  • A signed-in account.
  • An organization name (e.g. Acme Inc.) and an optional description.
  • Optionally, a list of teammates' email addresses to invite.

Path A — During the post-registration setup

  1. Right after signing up, AskPhi opens the Create your organization screen.
  2. Type an Organization name (required) and optional Description.
  3. Click Create Organization.
  4. On the next screen, Invite your team:
    • Add one email per row.
    • Click Add another email to add more rows.
    • Click the trash icon to remove a row.
  5. Click Send invitations, or click Skip to invite people later.

You'll land on the chat home as a member of your new organization.

Path B — From the profile

  1. Open your profile and click the Organization tab.
  2. If you're not in an organization, the tab shows a Create organization form.
  3. Fill in Organization name and Description (optional).
  4. Click Create organization.
  5. AskPhi opens the Invite your team screen — invite teammates or click Skip.

What happens after you create

  • You become the owner of the new organization.
  • The sidebar shows a coloured Organization link with the org name.
  • The management area at /manage becomes available.
  • You can send invitations at any time from Manage → Members.

Skipping the steps

You can click Skip on either screen. Your account will work in personal mode until you decide to set up an organization. AskPhi will not nag you about it.

Troubleshooting

  • "Could not create organization." — name might already be taken or invalid. Try a different name with at least a few characters.
  • Skip doesn't show up — only available right after registration. If you're past that, just close the screen by going to /chat directly.
