Find past chats

Browse, search, rename, and delete past chat sessions in the sidebar.

The sidebar's Chat History keeps every session you've created, grouped by date. As your list grows, scrolling and search become essential.

How sessions are grouped

SectionIncludes
TodaySessions created today.
YesterdaySessions from yesterday.
Last 7 DaysSessions older than yesterday but within a week.
Last MonthSessions older than a week but within a month.
OlderAnything older than a month.

The currently open session is highlighted in the sidebar.

Open a session

Click any session row to open it. AskPhi navigates to /chat/<session_id> and loads its messages.

The thread loads in pages of 20 messages, oldest at the top. Scroll up to load older messages — AskPhi fetches the next page automatically.

Search across sessions

  1. Click the search icon (magnifying glass) next to the + New Chat button at the top of the sidebar.
  2. Type your query in the search box. AskPhi searches session titles and updates the list as you type.
  3. Press Esc or click the × to close the search.

If no sessions match, you'll see "No data found".

Rename a session

  1. Hover the session row in the sidebar.
  2. Click the pencil icon that appears.
  3. A small dialog opens with the current title pre-filled.
  4. Type a new title and click Save.
  5. A toast confirms "Chat renamed successfully!"

The new name takes effect immediately in both the sidebar and breadcrumbs.

Delete a session

  1. Hover the session row.
  2. Click the red trash icon.
  3. A confirmation dialog asks "Delete Chat?" with the session name.
  4. Click Yes, Delete it! to confirm or Cancel to keep it.
danger

Deleting a session removes all messages inside it. The original file is not deleted; only the conversation.

Tips

  • Searching works best with short queries — try one or two distinct words from the title (e.g. marketing, q3).
  • Use rename to add a date prefix (2026-04 sales) so old sessions sort predictably alongside new ones.
